Contribution
Submitted by mek8630 on Tue, 02/28/2012 - 21:52.I'd like to know if JNode is still in active development at this time (02/28/12). I haven't seen any current posts. I'm going to contribute to the project, and hope for the best. This seems to be the cause of many projects drying up. The project's community isn't helping out enough, or at all, and obviously the developers can't handle all of the project's weight on their shoulders. So maybe we can revive the project if we get enough of the community to start helping out, by contributing as much time as possible. The community can write the documentation that needs done, so that developers can spend their time "developing". Also we can do any testing and bug reporting that needs to be done.
My goals for 2012 with JNode
This year, i decided to set some goals concerning my participation to JNode. For the end of 2012, i would like to :
1) Finish HFS+ implementation for JNode. It means complete (and working) implementation of read and write operations.
2) Improve USB storage support for JNode.
I hope to get there but, as usual, any help is welcome.

Thanks,

Nice to have found this!
Hello,
I just visited the blog of James Gosling, the inventor of Java, and read an interesting comment, where somebody mentioned JNode. So I came here and looked at these pages, the git repository, the status of this project and see that it's worth keep sticking at it.
It's a really nice project and I think it can be a good alternative for Embedded Devices, Smartphones, maybe for Jailbroken iPads and maybe also for the Desktop. Let's see
Cheers!

Me 3
Sorry for all these posts.
You could also add support for better syncing between this and the common OSs so this project can feel better adoption. The world needs another useful desktop OS. Phones are all the fab, but that will go soon. Find other Java OS projects and gather more info and code from them-I have listed a few here:
JX:OS based on Java micro kennel, very small made for competition with UNIX. It contains language based protection and inter process communication. View it at http://www4.informatik.uni-erlangen.de/Projects/JX/index.html
JOS:Another Java OS not so much known see it at http://jos.sourceforge.net/
JAW OS: A Java OS made mainly to run Java web apps see it at http://jawos.sourceforge.net
